Software Tools

The MediaHub manages software licenses for various majors/programs in the Patty Arvielo School of Business + Management.

Adobe Creative Cloud

All students in the Department of Communication receive a full Adobe Creative Cloud license during their entire Vanguard career. Student from other majors enrolled in a COMM course that requires Adobe Creative Cloud will receive a license for that semester/term only. If you have never activated your license, you will need to do the following:

  1. Go to adobe.com and make an account with your Vanguard email. (This part is very important, as your license is tied to your email address. An Adobe account made with a personal email address will not work.)
  2. Sign in to the Adobe account and check the user profile. You should see a “Vanguard University” license under “My Plan”.
  3. Save your account password–this is your own Adobe account and is not managed by the university.

If you create an Adobe.com account and do not have Vanguard University listed under “My Plan”, email the MediaHub for assistance. Include your student ID in your email.

Linkedin Learning

All students in the Patty Arvielo School of Business + Management receive a license to the LinkedIn Learning library. You can earn industry-accepted micro-credentials and certificates to enhance your future employability and build critical skills.

  1. Go to the LinkedIn Learning login and sign in with your Vanguard email and Vanguard password.
  2. It will ask you if you want to link the account with your Linkedin profile. This is highly recommended as this will allow you to post certificates of completion to your Linkedin profile and add certificates and badges for potential employers to see. Follow the prompts to connect the accounts.
  3. Explore the content and take any courses you want!

Celtx

All students in the Film and Visual Storytelling program receive a Celtx license. Celtx is screenwriting and film pre-production software that allows students to correctly format screenplays, create storyboards, budgets and schedules.

We do have extra licenses for students in other majors participating in film projects, especially through the “film club” or the COMM-382 course. If you feel you would benefit from being able to use this software, email us and tell us why!
